Smith slaps Rock

How many drugs was Will Smith on last night? Apparently enough to momentarily escape the bounds of reality and believe that he and Chris Rock were standing in the middle of a high school cafeteria instead of a millions-dollar production of The Oscars ceremony. There’s really no other explanation for what transpired between them. Will Smith either lost his mind, or he’s a freaking moron.

I don’t watch The Oscars any more, out of principle. There are too many politics at play in these awards, and they rarely are going to the most deserving recipient (in my opinion). It’s all about which studio has the most clout, and who got promoted the most, not about quality of performance or production. So who cares? He used the role as an excuse, saying it put him in a headspace of “protector” for his family. This is bullshit. Why? Because he is no longer in that headspace, and hasn’t been for nearly two years. Production of King Richard took place in the year 2020, and wrapped at least a year and a half ago. I don’t know any actors who try to remain in character AFTER filming a movie.

He also alluded to “being called upon by God to do things.” Another bullshit excuse. People who…
