Thanks, Susan Sarandon! This is All Your Fault
Third party voters should feel personally responsible for the fascism taking over our country
People have not let Susan Sarandon forget her role in the election of Donald Trump. Many hold her personally responsible for the outcome of the 2016 election, since she used her platform to publicly denounce Hillary Clinton, and cast her vote for Jill Stein, leading God knows how many lemmings to follow her directly over that hopeless cliff.
This deliberate choice led to Trump holding office, and his myriad decisions that cascaded like an avalanche through the health of the American Republic. It led to the liberal loss of two Supreme Court seats. It led to a nation in crisis, and one that very nearly had an insurrection take place on its soil for the first time since its inception.
And now, it has resulted in a giant leap backwards for women’s reproductive rights, with the newly conservative Supreme Court taking aim to strike down Roe v. Wade, a case that has stood the test of time these past 50 years.
It’s of course ridiculous to try and hold one person responsible for what happened in 2016. Right? But, on the other hand, famous people, and movie stars in particular, do hold a particular kind of power over public opinion. Why do you…
