I’m not suggesting an external force censor the work, I am suggesting that the author estate maybe look at all the negative ramifications this work has created in society and weigh the cost. It’s totally up to the artist estate if it’s worth keeping it in the public.

As to whether my take on this book is asinine, my opinion of it has softened some since I initially read it, but I still don’t think it’s entirely successful in its stated goal. And I wholeheartedly agree with you about religion.

Nabokov’s writing is spellbinding, and he tried to come at this topic multiple times. I’m still not sure he found the right combination to this lock, but it’s definitely a novel that created the controversy machine necessary to propel it into the spotlight.
