A Message to My Followers
A fellow writer needs your support
Hello, Followers of my Work on this platform! I haven’t spoken to you directly in a while. But, thanks for hanging in there and supporting my efforts. It is most appreciated.
I’m actually hoping you will do me a huge favor though. I need you to go over to a fellow writer’s page and click that Follow button. Trust me, you want to do this anyway. His work is top notch.
Mather Schneider is an author/poet I’ve known for several years now. His work is grounded in a kind of authenticity that is rare to come across these days. He has written many poems and pieces of fiction, including a collection of shorts, about his days of driving a cab in Tuscon, Arizona. And he has written extensively about the struggles of daily life, and about moving to Mexico to live with his wife’s family.
Mather’s work is utterly devoid of pretense or any kind of artistic aloofness. You’ll find his style reminiscent of other hard-boiled authors such as Hemingway, Bukowski, or Henry Miller. He doesn’t shy away from realism, or the taboo, but he definitely knows how to paint the picture for the reader, how to craft a sentence, and definitely how to leave a reader breathless and feeling like they just got sucker punched in the solar plexus. Not to mention the fact that he knows how to make you laugh.
